Love Dr. Caplan. Our 12-1/2 year old has been going to him for over a year, first for Herbst appliance to deal with over bite, now conventional braces. He's come in evenings when things broke, and has always been calm, concerned and tireless. A couple of her friends see him, too, for similar. I really think highly of him, and his assistants. Evening hours helps as well.

My son has been a patient of Dr. Caplan ever since he took over the practice from Dr. Post [it must be at least 5 years ago]. Caplan is a lovely human being and a fine orthodontist. His staff is friendly and it's a pleasure to be there. They all work hard to get you in and out and ALL of our appointments are after school and my working hours.

We used Dr. Kaswiner for my oldest son's braces and he was great. Even my son liked him. He also let us pay him $100.00 a month so we didn't have to lay out the full $4,800.00 in one shot. But if you have the money and want to pay up front he will give you a discount of $300 to $400.

One more vote for Caplan. In addition to being a really nice man, his office staff are extremely efficient. And friendly, as others have said.

Ha! I've used both! My older girl went to Caplan and my younger goes to Kaswiner.

They're both very good. Dr. Caplan is a bit too much of a perfectionist, but that's just my taste. And he laid a guilt trip on me, but that's really a small mark against him. I can recommend them both.

Dr. Kaswiner is very nice, as is his new partner, Dr. Bruzzichesi.

Guilt trip on you? Wow! He did kinda lay one on my kid regarding her insufficient brushing while wearing braces, but I asked him to. She listens to him but not to me. Plus, I liked that he showed her pictures of what happens to your teeth (post braces) if you don't brush adequately.

My kid broke the rod on her Herbst a couple of times, and he cheerully came in to the office at night and on a weekend to replace (without charging me, or blaming her). That greatly contributed to my warm fuzzies.

I didn't bring daughter in for a while. It was my mistake, but I didn't need a backhanded reminder. But as I say, it wasn't that big a deal.

Kaswiner has also met us late at night for emergencies. He even interrupted a tennis game in Morristown to do so. I suppose this sort of stuff is in the job description.

I hear you. Our dentist offered us both Kaswiner and Caplan contact info, and some other guy, too. I like our dentist (Fried) so I took the recs seriously. Just happened that our kid had 2 friends going to Caplan for the same regiment, and he had the soonest appointment. I'm sure both are equally good.
