i'm looking for a small lamp that i could use as a night light. it's going in my child's room & will not be plugged flush against the wall like most night lights. where can i get a small lamp (that uses the same size/watt bulbs as night lights) or night light w/ an electrical cord to plug into a wall? help??

A couple of years ago I got a "heart light" for my daughter at target. It took a low wattage bulb, worked perfectly and cost about 5.00 I've seen them there since.

My sister bought one a few years ago for my nephews from Kids R Ys. It's a basketball lamp that is meant to be used as a 'night light.' It gives off just enough light to enable you to see where you're going when the room is dark; but not enough to tell the difference in what color something is or to read.

They had lamps for a girls' room as well.

i got a lamp at Target for my dtr. also. It looks like a crystal chandelier and hangs from the ceiling, but just uses a little night light (pink in this case).

Check Ikea. They have a wonderful selection of small table lamps.

Second Ikea--they have a lot of lamps that use small bulbs.

When my daughter was little, there was no outlet in her bedroom that was convenient to put a nightlight in. I put a dimmer switch on the ceiling light and we dimmed it down to whatever level she was comfortable with. (She is 19 now and still doesn't like total darkness at night.)

My husband bought one of our kids a globe light at CVS by Whole Foods for about $20...it's cool b/c it has 3 (low, lower, lowest) levels of light that are turned on/up/off by touching the globe...it gives a nice glow & maybe they learn geography by osmosis?! It's less than/around a foot tall.

I was in Toys R Us today and saw this lamp. I almost bought it for you; but the lines were way too long. I also got yelled at when I started to take it out of the box.

taam-
Link? If you do go to Toys R Us, I just realized it's the one on Route 22 near the Kohls. If you can't go to that one the Livingston one should have lamps; right? I have to go down there tomorrow during the day, I could pick it up for you. I think it was $20. I thought of something after I posted the picture last night. None of us asked if your child was a boy or girl or how old your child was. Toys R Us has some other cute Teddy Bear type lamps; but they are more for real young children.
