of reasonably priced, nice fitting, casual pants. I tried on 15 pairs of pants on Sat. and NONE OF THEM FIT!!!! Flipping floppies, what is going on? Not everyone wants to wear those damn low rise pants. I have gone down a dress size and wanted to do some shopping. My fav is closed now (Casual Corner), so where can I go? ANY suggestions welcome. |

Eddie Bauer. There is still one open in Bridgewater and they have a great online store. My figure is difficult to fit with today's styles (short, curvy) and I always find something there. You can also try Talbots. |

I agree with Pippi! (And our figures are so totally different!). I do like the way Ann Taylor/AT Loft pants fit. Another option that I found last year for slacks is the Limited. Hadn't worn their clothes in maybe decades, but the plants have a nice fit. (Much better than Express for me). They are in Short Hills. |

Sears at Liv Mall carries some Lands End. I've had good luck at the Macy's at Essex Green -- Liz Claiborne etc. marked down. And don't rule out Target!! Got some Isaac M stuff there, non low/low rise and past size 12. |

For casual things with a bit of a dressy twist (just in case you want to go out later), I love the Banana Republic and also J. Crew. Great, casual clothing, well made and stylish. The "Republic" also has a variety of "rises" to chose from as well as lengths, as we all aren't super model height! |

Another vote for Ann Taylor. Now that they carry petites I was able to find nice fitting pants. |

I like Lands End a lot, but I usually order direct, because I never find the ones I want at Sears. Still, you could go to Sears and if they didn't have the exact style/size/color you need, you could try some on in order to be more confident about what you order. |

Agree with everyone on your suggestions. Most of these places have different cuts now so you can choose from about 4 different cuts. Once you find a cut you like, then it makes it easier to shop there across the board. Ann Taylor Loft tends to have great pants that are a little less expensive than Ann Taylor, but I've noticed that the Loft tends to really skimp on their fasteners, like their zippers - they tend to be a little big and clunky on their casual pants (of course, it hasn't stopped me from buying them...). Eddie Bauer has great stuff - got a lot of things from there last year. Banana Republic has great stuff, but I've found their sizing a little inconsistent. I bought a pair of pants that are almost identical - same cut, but just in two different colors, and they definitely don't fit the same way. I actually went into a Levis store about a year ago thinking that I'd be able to find a classic, well-fitting pair of jeans, and all but ONE pair was the low-rise stuff. Ended up buying jeans at Eddie Bauer and Old Navy instead... |

Ralph Lauren still makes jeans/cords/slacks that fit well (Bloomies). What drives me insane is the short-waisted shirts these days! I don't want a tunic, but give me another inch or two in length please! It is impossible to put your hands over your head to reach for something without showing the world what you don't want them to see! Jeesh, we aren't all nubile 20 year olds anymore! |

Ok, I'm a little embarrassed to say so, but the Gap now has pants that fit me great--come in three different shapes (I'm "curvy") and there are some nice fabrics. Though I like Ann Taylor, there's always something a little off about the fit for me. |

I'm a little embarrassed to admit this because it seems like such a high school store, but I've found that Limited Express has a variety of pants that fit like far more expensive pants. They classify them with names like the "editor" pant or the "publicist" pant, and they come in short, regular and tall as well. The "publicist" ones are almost identical to a pair of Poleci pants I bought ages ago and loved to death, and they were a fraction of the cost. |

summer - I have two pairs of the Editor and I love them! I got them when they first came out and they were only offering black and charcoal in "shorty pants" sizes, so I got 'em both. The are great work trousers. sadly, they are the only thing I can ever see myself buying there ever again. I am way out of the demographic |

LL Bean has slacks that are well priced and they come in a variety of cuts. They are mostly mail order or on-line but they do have a retail store in Marlton, NJ and a factory outlet store in Flemington at Liberty Village. Liberty Village is a nice place to go for lower prices on better merchandise and so are the factory outlet stores at Secaucus. |
