You literally just drive down South Orange Ave. and make a left into a huge, safe, free lot that's right next to the jury entrance. Couldn't be easier. |

The question is: federal or state? They are in different courthouses. Federalism at work. Both are easy to get to. |

P.S. If it's federal, driving around there is tricky due to Arena construction. You may be better off taking 78 West to McCarter Highway exit (like you're going to the airport), then get quickly over the the right and take broad street. |

If it is federal, there are plenty of parking lots in the area but like hommel mentioned, with the arena construction, part of mulberry is closed. I take Broad to Edison and there is a lot on your right when you cross Mulberry. I use it all the time - it is a short walk to the fedral courts from there. |

Or if you are nearer Springfield Avenue, you can do the same thing on SA. (I think that SO and SA Avenues merge somewhere not far before you get to the courthouse, but it has been quite a few years (knock on wood!) since I have been called for jury duty and my memory has faded a bit.) |

My comment related to state/county and was actually a followon to I'm Only Sleeping's post. I actually did do Federal Jury more recently, but I think that the construction changes in that area regularly and I don't remember now how I got there anyway. (I did the county courthouse several times and still remember driving all the way down SA to get there.) |

thanks, all. I need to go to the Essex County New Courts Bldg on Market St. Mapquest tells me to take Springfield. Glad to know parking is easy and validated |
