Does anyone know a GOOD website for used cars? I'll entertain Dealerships too.

I'm contemplating in purchasing a small SUV, preferably a Honda CR-V or Pilot.

Thanks

Haven't actually bought anything, but I've enjoyed doing a lot of window shopping at Vehix.com. You can search for new or used, by make and model. You can look up features and safety ratings, and compare up to three different cars.

We only used autotrader.com. And we ended up buying a really great used toyota from Andy's Auto on Vauxhall. It's a family-run business that always has about 40 cars in stock. It was SO much better than dealing with used certified cars from toyota dealers or a lot of the other used car lots we checked out.

I have bought cars on http://www.autotrader.com and http://www.ebaymotors.com. I bought my current car on ebay. Apparently, a lot of people buy there, sight unseen, but I wouldn't do that. The seller -- a dealer -- said lots of his customers buy sight unseen. He includes a warranty with each car he sells. He claimed the warranty company said they never have to pay a claim on the cars he sells. I told me I beat out a buyer from Oregon by a short amount of time. Bizarre.

We bought our Outback through Craigslist from a couple who had just moved to Millburn; we ended up paying a lot less for the car than if we had bought it from a dealer, and the sellers got more than they would have gotten as a trade-in. It worked out great for all involved, and couldn't have been more convenient!

I bought my Lincoln Navigator off of ebay. It was located at a dealership in FL, they shipped it up and we had 15 days to decide to keep it. We love it. My father-in-law bought his Mercury Sable from carsdirect.com. One thing to be aware of - cars.com has a few people who try and scam money out of you. These are the practicly new cars listed for low prices. They use Sqare Trade, which is a legit 3rd party for large money deals for the internet, but they are some how sending out false e-mails with Square Trade's logo on where to send the money.

FYI from Sqaure Trade's site:

SquareTrade will NOT email you to claim that the email you received from spoof@squaretrade.com was a mistake and insist that the seller is a Verified seal member while still asking you to send money via wire transfer. Fraudulent Sellers may be using legitimate Seal IDs to deceive you!

Beware of potential fake "spoof" emails that pretend to be an authentic email from SquareTrade or other trusted companies.
