Hi - We're SO residents...been so for about 6 months. We're on the waiting list for SO for two different spots - the town spot or NJ transit spot. Supposedly, we're on two and four year waiting lists. Not crazy about the jitney option either.

Any ideas? We've been doing the dropoff thing and it's a pain.

For $3 a day, you can park in the NJT lot at Maplewood Train Station but these spaces fill up very quickly so it would work best if you take a very early train in the morning. There is also non-permit on street parking available on some streets in Maplewood which are about a ten minute walk from the train station. Along several of the nearby Avenues just east of Prospect Street is one area that has been recommended in the past.

Good luck.

This SO resident parks in the Maplewood non-permit parking lot.
SO has non-permit metered parking, too. But it's $4 a day and there are not nearly as many available spots as can be found in Maplewood. The large non-permit lot is across the street from Arturo's and is generally filled by 7:45.
