I am going to do some spring yard work and I don't have a landscaper anymore and was wondering what to do with all the old leaves that I will be raking out of the beds. Thanks, |

put them out for the spring leaf pick up....if you live in Maplewood. Call town hall about the specifics. or they make good compost at some point. |

smoke them, use them for sandwich filler, wait for the notice from the town about the spring rake out that you wont actually get, (i have been here 2 years and have never received one), or go to the town website and get your zone number and spring rake out dates. |

You can buy composters, or some wire fencing and make a composter. Layer in some leaves, 1/2 an inch of dirt, another 5 inches of leaves, more dirt and so on until you fill it or run out of leaves. Soak, and in no time you will be filling it again as the leaves compost. Use the compost in your gardens. Later, George |

Town will pick them up as part of the municipal garden debris disposal. Each area gets five pick ups. The program began on March 20 (areas 1 and 2) and goes through May 1 (areas 11 and 12). If you post the area you are in, I can reply with the dates for your area. |

But no loose leaves like in the fall. Everything in barrels. |

I'm with George. Compost it yourself and save the town the bother. Leaves disappear in no time, if you do it right. If not, use them as mulch when fall hits. |

Where is the schedule posted? I think I missed a copy of the leaflet and I can't find it on the town website. I am in zone 3. Thanks! Jolynn |
