I just saw Luiginia Vlad on E. Northfield Avenue in Livingston(right near Livingston Bagel). She appears to be very smart and very thorough. |

I heard great things about Luiginia Vlad from my nutritionist. I haven't gone to see her yet but I will. |

Thanks, I'll check to see if she's in my health plan. Anyone else? |

I love Dr. Prus-Wertheimer from Summit Medical group. Right now she is located in Summit, but she is probably moving to the new facility in Berkeley Heights which may be farther than you want to go (15-20 min). |

I think it depends on why you are seeing one. I have heard from other docs that Vlad is good with thyroid stuff, but not as experienced with diabetes, particularly in younger people. I saw her once and didn't care for her - took me on a completely different course of treatment from my wonderful previous doc, and couldn't explain the science behind it. Just seemed what she was more comfortable with. Based on recommendations here I see the Dower, Gerwitz, Garbowit practice in the St B Ambulatory Care Center. I've been pleased. Have also heard good things about (from other docs) about Advani in WO. Again, depending on your issues and course of treatment, it really is about building a relationship with an endo, I think. I will be seeing mine a few times a year for the rest of my life- so I need to be able to talk to them and feel comfortable with their recommendations. Definitely meet a couple and then decide.

If you want to understand your diagnosis and or treatment, don't see Dr. Advani. When I saw her she didn't seem to have any patience for my questioning. When I called back with follow-up questions, by the tone of her voice didn't want to be talking to me (and I still didn't understand what was wrong with me or possible concerns). To top it off, she had tests results sitting on her desk for 3 days before she called me. I know they were they because I called each day, 1st to verify they were back and 2 more to ask her to call me....and no this was not a simple blood test. Unacceptable not to return a call...especially when waiting for test results. After I was frustrated enough I saw Garbowit (out of pocket, didn't carry my insurance). After a 45 minute exam/consultation I fully understand my condition, concerns, next steps, etc. |

Dr. Dower at the St. Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center. I had to wait quite a while for an initial appointment, but it was well worth it. Very thorough, and open to hearing what I had to say. |
