Hi all:

6:55pm flight out tonight. Can't leave MSO until 3:30ish.

Anyone have good advice on how to get there quickest?

Drive? GWB?

Train to Penn Station and a cab?

or Train to Penn then LIRR to Shea and cab?

Other options?

Help!

Train to Penn, N train to Astoria, M60 (bus) to airport. Should take under an hour.

Really?

So that would be 1,2,3,9 to Times Square, then N right?

Anyone else care to chime in?

I agree with Brett. You don't have to take the 1 and 9 to the N. You can walk one block over to 6th Ave to get the N.

I would compromise. Train to Penn and since you're there at Penn already take the LIRR to either Shea via Port Washington Line if the next train stops at Shea or to Flushing and then a cab to LaGuardia. In fact you'll probably find more cabs at Flushing rather than Shea. Of course you can also take the 1,2 or 3 to 42nd and then grab the 7 to Flushing as well. For ease though I'd do the LIRR.

Thanks all.

Wendy, I think I like your route best.

I do this a lot. It's too bad that you can't get the 2:44 MTD into Penn; you'd have plenty of time to catch a cab. The 3:42 would get you there at 4:20ish. Which could actually be OK for a cab (depending on whether it's raining and how long the cab line is). If you have your boarding pass printed out & aren't checking luggage, getting to LaGuardia at 5:45ish should be fine.

Make sure that you check all the train connections and take into account buying tickets, etc. It may be no longer to do MTD/cab.

The cost for the cab is $30-$40, depending on traffic.
