Maplewood First Aid Squad is looking for volunteers to ride their ambulance. We are all volunteers, helping the Maplewood community by providing emergency medical care.

Volunteering for the MFAS is a great way to develop leadership and communication skills, make friends and help your fellow man. It is also a great way to gain knowledge and experience in healthcare services. It's ideal for college students, or those attending courses for health care.
We will pay for your CPR and EMT-Basic certification courses in exchange for your time, and shifts are flexible.

Members need not be Maplewood residents, but you must be 17 years old or older to join.

If you would like to be part of an active group of caring individuals, please contact the Squad at (973) 761-1075. You can also contact India Larrier at IRLarrier@aol.com or Bo Protyniak at bprotyniak@gmail.com

I no longer live in Maplewood, but I'd like to chime in that the Maplewood First Aid Squad once saved my younger sister's life. She was eight years old and went into anaphalactic shock. She's 21 and alive today because of the great work the squad does.

Thank you!!

Rich was on the Millburn/SH squad for several years as chief leader (or something like that). It was a wonderful experience. Is the Maplewood group as cliquish as Millburn?

Sherri -
I think you'd find the Maplewood First Aid Squad is not at all cliquish! In fact, There are quite a few new members who have really gotten involved at every level. They're always looking for new people. Is Rich still able to ride? They'd love to have him! You, too!

irl, thanks for the feedback. I'll ask him if he's still interested. As for me,
I have brain freeze (turning 57 on the 20th)and don't think I could absorb all the medical stuff required. Is there another way I could volunteer such as clerical or such?
