Me, three kids, lots of luggage. Going mid-day Wednesday, coming home late Thursday a week later. Gone total 8 days. Should we try a cab (will there be enough room)? How much is it? Or is it easier/cheaper to part at Mr. B's?

Cab from Maplewood on Maplewood Taxi is $32, however, you may pay a couple extra bucks for extra luggage. Newark Yellow Cab (cab line) is the same price on the way home, just hop in and go.....

Daily parking is $25 a day, right off of the Monorail. Newark Arpt. economy parking is $15 a day and a loooooooong shuttle to get to the airport, give yourself plenty of time.

If you can all fit in the cab, definitely thats the way to go.

I don't know what Mr. B's is, so I can't help there....

I would recommend a cab as well -- not just for the time and convenience and cost, but also because I know what it is like traveling with kids, and personally, I would be in no mood to drive. Especially when said kids are wearing magic marker underwear.

http://www.beepark.com with web coupon $9.95 per day or $59.95 per week including a free car wash.

If you go to the Port Authority website and go to the EWR (Newark airport) section, there is a subsection on parking. Initially it only lists the official airport car parks, but there is also a link for private parking lot operators....including Avistar, Alamo, Park2go, Mr B's etc.

I guess space could be tight if you need to take car seats into the airport with you if you have very young children..

If you show a business card, you can park at Mr. B's for $8/day, at least as of this past November. I don't know if there are any particular criteria for a "qualified" business, but my spouse's card from his employer (small NYC architecture firm) worked for us.

How is the service at Mr. B's? Does the shuttle run frequently, and how much time does it take to get from the parking lot to the terminal? Interesting stuff. While I'd prefer cabbing it, we've got a little one that needs the car seat, so we have to go to long term parking on trips. (unless anyone knows a cab company that provides child seats for the trip)

The logistics of moving 3 kids and their luggage twice would make the taxi decision the winner. Have the taxi drop you off in front of a skycap and preprint your boarding passes. Then bribe the littles to be big helpers through security and your off. Have a great trip!
