We have an antique wingback chair that's in need of reupholstering. Anyone know anyone good in the area who can also help us choose the right fabric? Thanks.

Terminal Mill Ends on Styvesant Avenue in Union. They are wonderful. Not cheap, but not the most expensive, either.

They did our dining room windows and chairs and our sunporch furniture.

I know there was a prior thread on upholstery/slipcovers that there were other recommendations given for other local places.

Ultimate Upholstry on Valley Street in South Orange, diagonally across the street from Pathmark. They did several upholstry jobs for me, and I've always been very pleased. They do have fabric, but I've always used fabric I found on my own, not through them.

Nice fabric on the upper chair MATB. Where'd you get it?

At a fabric place way the heck up in Hackensack. If you want to make the trip, I'm sure I can come up with the name.

A second recommendation for Ultimate Upholstry. I used them (based on meandtheboys persuasive pictures last time)and they were great. We didn't need new fabric, but my kids had jumped on a small swivel chair so often, the springs had come out from the bottom. Anyway, Ultimate fixed it, refilled the seat-pillow, without me asking or charging me for it, and when they called and said it was ready, and I said I can't come get it now, maybe tomorrow - they said - we'll bring it right over. Wouldn't accept a tip for delivery even.

I can't wait for my kids to wreck something else, so I can give them another call.

Let me say this about Ultimate...I needed a couple of this hook type pins for some curtains that I was hanging and I could not find them anyhwere. I went in there in desperation and he GAVE me a handful of pins...I only needed one or two but he insisted and would not take a penny for them. I vowed then that if I ever need to cover something that I would go to him. After reading the above, I will make it a point to!
