Sadly, my cat passed away this weekend. He was diabetic and I would like to give his supplies to a family who could use them, rather than throw them out, espcially knowing how expensive they are. Here's what I have:

7 cans Hills M/D diet
1 - 10 lb bag Hills M/D dry food (opened but essentially unused)
1 box ultra thin syringes (about 90 remanining)

Please PL me if you're interested.

I am very sorry that you lost your friend.
How kind of you to want to help another diabetic cat.
Please call some rescue groups that foster cats,or your local private animal shelters. These groups often operate on a shoestring, frequently house special needs animals, and are grateful for any donations. Please check with them first, but I am certain they will be able to put your supplies to good use.
What a nice tribute to a loved companion.

My sympathies. I was in a similar position and I brought all my supplies to my vet (Dr. Malampati on Springfield Ave) and asked him to give them to a family that needed them. Or you might approach the JAC shelter, although I'd be surprised if they take the time to care for a diabetic cat.

Campbell-
I am so sorry to hear you lost your four footed friend. I agree with the others it's very nice of you to want to donate the supplies to someone else who might need them. Perhaps you can ask the vet who treated your four footed friend if he has a use for the supplies.

Does anyone know the names of some reputable rescue groups?

I will try to call them as soon as I can make the call without sobbing (lest they think I am some sort of crazy woman)

Campbell, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. That was a lucky cat that had your family, and I admire your genorosity.

Please let me know if you want me to make those calls for you; I'd be happy to do it.
