You can fill in your own predictable Monty Python joke here... but I do need to speak with someone in the Maplewood area that owns a parrot.

Thanks!

Do you need someone who owns one NOW or will someone who owned one once do? I had a blue & gold Macaw for about 6 years.

I actually need someone that currently has a parrot. It's an odd story, but a good one - so if anyone owns a parrot, let me know please!

I don't have a parrot, but I just have to say it's not nice to tease us like that Case. "It's an odd story, but a good one.....!"

My husband owns a parrot. I can't take ownership as I will forever and always be the evil step-mother. Let me know if there's something we can help with. Sorry, but parrot sitting not an option. One screaming bird is all I can take.

Dying to know what the odd but good story is. Are you looking to mate one? Switch one?
Do tell!

OK here it is... we're throwing a luau for Memorial Day weekend. I'm building a tiki bar, we bought a ton of tiki stuff (not Tiki Barber, the other kind), and my thought was that IF we could find a parrot-owner that would like to spend a few hours drinking mai tais or blue hawaiians, their pet would be a smashing addition to the decor.

For the record, I would want the bird protected from both children and adults - meaning, he (or she) stays in the cage, out of the sun, hanging out eating sunflower seeds or payapa slices or whatever the hell they eat.

The party is adult-oriented (i.e. incredible amounts of eating and drinking), but it is also somewhat child friendly - we have a playhouse and may line up a babysitter for the young kids, so the parents can relax a bit and enjoy the party.

So there's the story behind ParrotQuest 2006. This is NOT a first come, first served offer - multiple parrots can bring their owners to the party if they wish to attend.

What a great idea! Makes me wish I owned a parrot. I don't seem to have a knack with birds (see my thread on Suicidal Robin), but every time I go to NJ Pets I become enamored of the beautiful African Greys ... alas, too high maintenance for my lifestyle.

A parrot used to live in Maplewood Camera on Highland...maybe you could speak to the current owner and ask where it moved to.
Another thought, Call Bill McClure at Maplewood Pet...he may know of a parrot owner.
Good luck!
