The following NJT Alert refers to Millburn but it could easily affect M/SO train service as well. There is a 107 bus out of Port Authority which goes to South orange Train Station and there are buses going to Ivy Hill, Valley Street (via South Orange Avenue) and Springfield Avenue that can serve as reasonable alternate means of getting home if the delay persists.
Due to a brush fire train service is temporarily suspended in/out of Millburn Station, M&E subject to 30-45 min. delays.

NJT announced that service was just restored, but that there are the residual delays. |

You're right. I just got the following transit alert:
