Monster - princess cakes are hard. I've made Winnie the Pooh, Holly Hobbie, R2D2 and The Starship Enterprise cakes.. but unless one is an artist, princesses are very hard to draw.

Disney Princess Party Ideas
A Disney Princess party theme, including ideas for princess birthday party games, crafts and party supplies. Everything you'll need to
create the Disney Princess party of your little girl's dreams!

Disney Princess Party Supplies
Begin with Disney Princess Party Supplies here from
Birthday in a Box or Birthday Express .
They both offer complete party boxes, a la carte items
& favor sets to match your Disney Princesses party theme.
Then add some of the theme related party games
and activities listed below.

Disney Fairy-Tale Princesses
INVITATIONS
For home-made invitations, use pink card stock paper
cut in a Tiara shape. Or, roll your paper in a scroll and
tie with a thin satin ribbon.

"The King wishes your presence at the Royal Birthday Celebration of Princess ______ !"

A sprinkle of glitter in the card or envelope adds flare.
Attach a princess sticker with the guests name
to the envelope or outside of the scroll.

Personalize It!

Personalized Princess invitations make a great addition
to every party theme and can be personalized with
your child's name, the names of each of your guests,
or a message! Click here to personalize >>

DISNEY PRINCESS PARTY DECORATIONS
The princess colors of choice are pink, lavender,
yellow and white. Cover the table with your table cloth.
Sprinkle sequins or pink candies on the top of the table.
Place balloons anywhere that strikes your fancy.
Hang Disney posters on the wall and door. Drape the
Birthday Girl's Chair with fabric and tie a ribbon around it.
Advanced Decorations:
Purchase a Color-A-Castle Activity This will ad to
the decorations, as well as provide a party activity.
With a bit of work, you can make your own castle
with paint and a refrigerator box.
Tip - Enlist a teenage artist for this job.

DISNEY PRINCESS PARTY GAMES & ACTIVITIES
Several ideas are a natural for this popular theme.
We've provide enough for you to choose according to
your time frame and party space.

The Princess Party Begins...
Announce the guests upon arrival and escort them to
the royal preparation table, where they will receive a small
amount of lipstick, blush and eye shadow. If you have not
already suggested the girls wear their favorite dress-up
dress...provide a box of special dress up clothes and a mirror.

Princess Face Painting
Purchase standard face paint or make your own.
Suggested images are; roses, tiaras, glass
slippers, twinkling diamonds or stars, castles and hearts.
Make every picture sparkle with a very fine dusting glitter (craft or cosmetic store). Click here for sample images
If face painting is just not your gift, mix aloe-vera gel and fine polyester glitter. Apply to the girl's cheeks for sparkling fun!

Cinderella's Glass Slipper
Make a "glass slipper" before the party, using silver
spray paint or glue and glitter, on a high heeled shoe.
You will also need an old shoe for game time.
Position the girls into a circle. Pass the shoe around
the circle while music is playing. Ring a bell to signal the
stroke of midnight. The player holding the slipper when
the bell rings, receives the old shoe to hold, while sitting in
the middle. She is then in charge of the bell ringing for the
next round. At the end of the game every player receives
a Disney Princess prize; necklace, ring, Disney Princesses
fruit snacks etc.

Disney Bingo - DVD Game
(for parties of 6 or less)
This fun game for kids is made by the creators of
SCENE IT. It's a super addition to any Disney themed
party for kids ages 4 & up. We recommend Disney DVD Bingo
for parties, because it takes very little prep-time and it's a
a party game the birthday child can play with friends at other times - what a great birthday gift! Read the details >>

Snow White's Poison Apple
Send the little princesses to find the poison apple before
Snow White takes a bite!
Before the party tie a green ribbon around the stem of
one red apple. Hide that apple with several more apples
around the party space. To play simply explain to the
children that Snow white is going apple picking and one
of the apples is poisonous. Can they find it?
If you want to add more poisonous apples, just tie
more ribbons around the stems.

Who Am I
Before the party, place stickers of Disney Princesses
on several 3x5 cards - one Princess per card.
To play, tape the cards onto the girls backs,
so that they cannot see their own Princess.
The object of the game is to identify which princess
is on you back, by asking yes/no questions of
the other players.
Example:
Does my princess have brown hair?
Is my princess wearing a blue dress?

Dance -- Freeze
Inform the girls that Sleeping Beauty's evil step mother
is threatening to FREEZE the entire Kingdom!!!
When the music starts, they begin dancing…until the
"Evil Step Mother" (adult) stops the music.
At which point, they all freeze. Repeat this several times.

The Princess is missing her favorite things!
Place several items on a tray or cookie sheet.
Try to find items that work with the theme.
Tiara, lipstick, Wand or royal scepter, Silver spoon
Jewelry, Handkerchief etc. One player leaves the room.
Remove one or two items from the tray. When the player
returns they must guess what's missing.
Repeat until every child has a turn.

Princess Puzzler
Before the party, print out Disney Princesses pictures
from the Internet or use a coloring book. Attach each
picture onto some construction paper with a glue stick.
Cut the pictures into 2, 3, or 4 puzzle pieces. Hide the
pieces around the party area. The girls each need to
find one puzzle piece and then find the the players
with the matching piece/s.

Pretty, Pretty Princess
For parties with 4-6 girls
A board game where the object of the game is to
become the princess. You can find it where you
purchase most games. It is intended for four players.
If you have more girls purchase extra jewelry at your
local party store.

Disney Princesses Piņata

Disney Princesses Pull-String Piņata
Fill this pull string piņata with lip gloss, candy necklaces, miscellaneous candy, toy rings, stickers etc.
Disney Princesses are pictured on both sides.
Pull string piņata's are safer and ensure that all
children will enjoy this activity.

PRINCESS CRAFTS

Princess's Jewels
Bead jewelry with string and plastic beads to make
necklaces or bracelets.

Make a Princess Frame
Decorate Craft foam picture frames (craft store) with
glitter glue and stick on jewels. Use a Polaroid camera
to take pictures when the girls are all dressed up and wearing their tiaras. Each girl will have their own
picture and frame to take home.

Make your own Tiara
Purchase paper tiara's (party store), glitter glue,
and stick on jewels. Cover your work space and allow the little princess's to create their own tiara to wear and take home.

Royal Princess Clay
Make your own play dough.
Provide each child with a ball of dough and some fine glitter (craft store). The children will work the glitter into the dough. Package each of the guests dough into a Zip -loc bag to be taken home as a party favor.

DISNEY PRINCESS PARTY FAVORS
Fill a pink paper bag (party store) with favors fit for royalty.
glitter balls, stickers, Disney Princess fruit snacks,
nail polish Plastic Jewelry, miniature book of Cinderella, "Stick-on earrings", paper dolls...

PRINCESS CAKE
Easy Princess Cake...

Make or order a sheet cake with roses and add
a plastic tiara and wand or Disney Princesses figurines.

Now that you have your party plan...
order your Disney Princess Party Supplies here from
Birthday in a Box or Birthday Express. They both offer
complete party boxes, a la carte items and favor sets
to match your Disney Princesses party theme.

Thanks Monster but way too much information for our needs. The stuff from Birthday Express actually arrived yesterday. The party's outside of the house so no need for activites. The rest of the crap the kids are going to eat arrived from Pea Pod yesterday. Since I'm not going to subject other kids to my cooking, all that's needed is to buy the cake.

You probably did help someone else though with all of your ideas.

Costco only does generic themes like "princess" but won't do pics of disney princesses.

I'd go Shoprite. Kait & Abbey's is probably better but MUCH more expensive. I'd save them for an adult party.

My mother used to make 'real' princess cakes.

She'd bake several flat round cakes of different
sizes and cut holes in their centers. Then she'd
stack them largest on the bottom, 2nd largest, etc.

When it was waist high to a Barbie-type doll she'd
put the doll in the center hole and cover the outside
cake 'skirt' with pink and white icing and stick on
a few tied ribbons.

Always a hit.

Scully - my mom did that, too. It was so cool.

Pamela - why not get the Costco princess cake and stick your own Disney Princess figurines on it? At four, she'll think it's the coolest cake. I agree on saving Cait & Abbey's for adult partys.

I just got a star wars Darth Vader cake at the Shoprite on Morris Ave in Union. They will scan any picture and print on a cake and they also have a whole book of special theme cakes. The cake was fresh and delicious and my guests all commented on this. The price wasn't too bad. Certainly less than Cait and Abbey's and better and fresher than Sonny Amster.

You could make that barbie cake with a bundt cake, it could also work as a Cinderella cake, or a princess cake, or....
make several of them to feed the masses

If the grownups are sticking around for the party, get Cait & Abby's. They'll put anything on the cake and they do a good job, and the cakes taste great.

If the cake is just for the kids, any old cake from Costco or Shoprite or whatever will do - the kids really don't care one way or the other. Or even just get cupcakes. Little kids love cupcakes. If you feel like being slightly Martha Stewart-ish, find some princess pics on the web, shrink them to a tiny size, print out, cut out and stick to a toothpick or piece of drinking straw. Put each toothpick into a cupcake. Voila! Princess cupcakes.

Shop Rite Livingston is fine for the little kids. They have all types of Princess themes for the cakes, which btw, are very good .

DiPaollo's Bakery on Stuyvesant Ave in Union is also very good. I'm getting a Holy Communion Cake there this week.

Went to Costco last night to see what they had & pick up a few other things. We showed her a cake with pink & yellow flowers on it. She loved it. So, the decision is Costco cake with Princess figurines I bought through Birthday Express. Thanks all for the input.

BGS, we did a mexican fiesta for my son's 2nd birthday. (He likes mariachi, what can I say?) I got all the decorations from Orental Trading (12 sombreros for $20!) and had a great selection of tequilas for the grownups. Someonr on MOL actually bought the decorations for a Cinco de Mayo party last year. If you'd like, I'd be happy to give you the maricahi cds.
