I can hear the squirrels rummaging around in the built in drawers or walls that are in my office/guest room. I was in denial for a long time, thinking they were on the roof or in the gutters. Who do I call about this? I'm sure one would just jump right out if I were to open the drawer!

As always, I recommend Jerry at Buckingham Pest control - Wellesley Road Maplewood. Without him I think I would have been a blubbering wreck in the corner of the room many a time....

I followed the advice I had seen on this board after getting a >$1,000 estimate to get rid of squirrels and patch their hole. I purchased a hav-a-heart (large) squirrel trap. I figured out with they were getting into my roof (I also purchased an extension ladder) and placed the baited trap outside near there.

Over about two weeks I caught and relocated 4 squirrels to an out of town park and patched the hole myself. Since then we've been squirrel free. It wasn't as difficult as I tought it would be. So it is possible to do it yourself.

Ponsonby, I know this sucks and I don't mean to make light of it, but the visual I get when I read your thread title makes me laugh! Don't they tickle your nether-regions?

Las, I guess there are things worse than squirells in my HOUSE, right?

Also... I know they're getting on the roof up a young maple tree that's too close to our house anyway and needs to be removed. Maybe getting rid of the tree will solve the whole problem?

Ron Pate, KRB pest Control helped with our squirrels, (973) 669-8030.

He's a 'be the squirrel' kind of guy, just knows how to get your house rid of them and what to do on the outside to prevent them from coming back. His prices were always less than we antipicated.

Good luck. Enjoy the squirrels in your drawers!

We used to have two very tall, toally ugly trees in our front yard. Squirrels would climb said trees and.. L..E...A....P.... onto our roof and then (unknown to us) they somehow made their way into the nether region of the roof between the outside world and us inside dwellers. It was like a squirrel highway.

One day we had those ugly trees cut down, but we neglected to tell the squirrels.

Fast forward one year. We're getting new gutters or getting the house painted ot some such thing and the guy who is up working by that part of the roof tosses a couple of mummified squirrels down onto the lawn.

Squirrels are very persistent at returning to their "home". We had a family living in our house fan. We finally removed it and closed the opening. I felt really bad watching the poor squirrels spend weeks trying to get in. They finally gave up.

After we trimmed back our trees (pruning is sufficient/no need to cut the trees down entirely), we found that the squirrels were walking up the side of the house. Finally we called an exterminator who solved the problem.

If I had squirrels in my drawers, I would definitely worry about my nuts.
