i am sorry for the double thread (under fix-it too), but our lawnmower won't start. - before we go and buy a new one, we want to see if it makes $$ sense to fix. any ideas on where to go?

taam, there's a lawn mower place at the corner of springfield and broadview avenues, near the dunkin donuts.

P&P Lawnmower is the name of that place. We've had them do a tune up on our mower before and were pleased.

Double posting should be cause for banning and/or public flogging.

Of course, many people in my life have observed that I over-react. And when they tell me that, I immediately attempt to beat them to death with whatever object is close at hand.

buy a can of starter fluid-spray a few shots into the air cleaner /carb area-presto!

then bring it to p&p if that does not work.

Even if oots's idea works, you should bring it to P&P for a tune-up and blade sharpening annually, anyways. They do really nice work, and the cleaner your lawnmower runs the better for the environment.

As a sidebar, apparently there is a huge battle right now in Congress to try to get catalytic converters installed in all new lawnmowers. Gasoline-powered lawn mowers are a huge source of air pollutants. The industry says it will make engines run too hot and cause fires, and drive up costs. Very similar to the battles over car engines back in the 1970's.
