What happened to this engrossing thread about modern American parents and their conspiciously consuming teens?

I say this is post # 158.

If he killed it, he surely would have lost the bet. Methinks someone crossed a line....?

Now I think the original thread is gone, too.

Dave thinks he can do whatever he wants just because he owns this board.

Jamie, please bring back the thread that your brother took away. We all know that you are the true power behind MOL. If you two were brands of soda you would be Coke and Dave would be Fanta.

Actually Jamie is the owner of the board and Dave is the moderator.

In fairness to the the guys there is a fine line here. Occasionally there are threads where private citizens (as opposed to public figures such as TC, VB and BOE members and candidates) are easily identified even though no names are used. I think this thread was one of those situations.

I know I have to restrain myself from time to time about posting something where the subject involves an individual or individuals who would be fairly easily identified by anyone who knows them or knows me in real life.

With that said, I don't think there was anything wrong with the MTV story I posted about quarter million buck Sweet 16 and graduation parties.

Cool! Dave owes me $50!

When is this MTV show on? I think that I have to catch a glimpse, although I don't think that I could deal with more than 10 minutes of it. Then again, I watched the entire episode of Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire?, albeit mouth dropped and horrified.

greentree it is on MTV throughout the day and night. I am sure there is a particular time, I just happen to catch bits and pieces while surfing on commercials.

Greenie, I posted the article about quarter million dollar teen parties that Miss K sent me. I don't think she watches the show, thank God, but someone sent her the link because she is a Korean, Irish, Catholic, Jewish Princess in many ways. Very confusing.

Greenie - whoever said it was like the car wreck syndrome was right. If you come across it you won't be able to pull yourself away. It's actually fascinating to think this happens enough to make a series and not just a one-off show.

Bob - I read your post. It's just hard to believe. I mean, I believe it, but still.

Eliz - I call it "train wreck tv" and you are right. I should probably stay away from it.

Interesting that right now Dr. Phil's show is discussing the exact topic of what spoiling children when young turns the kids into when they are 25+.....maybe some of these parents need to watch this show (i don't even like Dr. Phil but it is very relevant today!!!)
