Age 14, size 3 junior. I'm always looking for a bargain, but must not be sleazy/too bare. Must be fashionable, however! Event is the middle school dinner dance, which I gather is rather formal. Where would you go?
Thanks for the input.

Two suggestions where I've seen some nice dresses recently:

I went to the Loehmann's on Rt. 10 for the first time on Wednesday and I have to say they had some really cute things. Great bargains and some good labels.

On the pricier side, I was in Anthropologie over the weekend and they've really upped their dress selection. Lots of really pretty party dresses with a Palm Beach socialite vibe. Definitely more cocktail than super formal, though.

Loehmann's or Marshalls on rt 10. They are next to each other.

Close to home, try Teenage Wasteland on Ridgewood, you never know what you might find in there. Plus, they have great inexpensive jewelry and accessories to complete the look. Next stop, Annie Sez, they cetainly have some dresses and good prices.

For something a little more formal, if you go to Mall @ Short Hills you might try Jessica McClintock, in addition to Macy's, Bloomies, etc. Their prices aren't too horrible.

If you go to Jersey Gardens (not on a weekend, it'll kill you!) there are quite a few stores you could easily find something under $100.

Bloomingdale's in the Bridgewater Mall has one of the best dress departments (with lots of junior appropriate styles) that I've ever seen. It's worth the 25 minute drive. It's also a lot less stressful then the Bloomie's in MaSH.
