Is it possible to shop for new carpeting and get in installed within the week? I'm thinking I should take advantage of this last week at home before I have to start working again and get our stairs and hallway carpeted . . .

We used Empire Carpet - they advertise on TV a lot. They can do it within a few days.

Check out Jasco on Rte 22. I swear by their installers. I assume they still use the type of pros who did our stairs and another room in the past. I wouldn't just choose someone just because they're available this week; also the carpet might have to be ordered. Many of these folks work Saturdays.
