A very nice gold cross necklace.

I know chances are slim I'll find the owner here, but P/L me with a description and contact info if you think it might be yours.

Did you post a "found" note in the area. They might come back looking for it.

How do you know it represents a cross? What if it is a golden plus sign, or the letter "t" belonging to a hyperlexic child? I realize you are probably just trying to be helpful, but it's innocent comments like these that do the most damage

Yes george. That's what smiley faces are usually about. In addition, for those who are addicted regular readers of this board, there was a thread about the political correctness on a Brooklyn message board about finding a boy's hat. The smiley face wasn't needed for me. I thought that Debby's post was a good parody of that Brooklyn thread.

I remember the 'hat' story! Didn't that same group have a different spat before that?

I had no idea what the heck Debby was talking about, although I knew she was yanking my chain. Thank you for the clarification!

Nope. Going to put the word out among friends who live on that street. Was thinking of putting up "FOUND" posters on telephone poles--but then I seem to have some vague recollection of that being illegal and the proper authorities tracking you down via the phone number on the poster and having you remove them?

Could be it was just someone walking up the street dropped it, and I'll never find them because they were just "passing through." But I thought I'd at least give it a shot. It is a nice quality piece of jewelry.
