Has anyone else experienced a rise in cholesterol since installing one of those Jayson water softeners with salt? My doctor is going to tell me when I go in tomorrow, I can bet,to cut down on the salt... Also, I don't have a water filter - would that remove the salt? Thanks. |

Why should salt intake affect cholesterol levels? Last I heard the best way to control higher cholesterol levels than desired is to get plenty of exercise and eat a diet low in fat (especially reducing or eliminating transfat). Isn't salt intake more closely related to hypertension? |

My partner has some problems with hypertension - so I was extra vigilant about filtering our drinking water - we got a reverse osmosis filter that we hooked up to the water in the fridge, so we wouldn't have any extra sodium... feel free to email me if you have any questions. Jayson did ours. |
