I agree. It's so hard to figure out where to post things and confusing to follow threads |

As many of you know, I have asked re this and feel strongly that we need it badly as a community. Dave, Jamie, please give back the Education section as it was, with some extra controls as we've previously discussed if you feel they are necessary. Many thanks for the work you do. David |

Let me quote some of my fellow MOL citizens (I apologize now if I took anyone "out of context"): Seriously . . . Dave & Jamie created and maintain this board, and as such they can do as they damn well please. ...for the most part, it doesn't matter where you post something. If you choose a place that the consensus says is wrong, there is rarely a repercussion, and when there is, it is rarely big. So relax and post where you want. When you are at a party, the topics of discussion morph every minute or so. No one announces the title of the discussion, and no one shuns another for getting off topic. Why are we more rigid when online? Again...this is not a publicly funded or run message board. It is the result of the work of two guys who can do whatever they want with it...you just have to deal. It is great that Maplewood has this board, but it doesn't belong to maplewood it belongs to the brothers Ross. Stop trying to figure things out and post in threads that interest you, no matter where they are. And to take that a point further, I think the Ross brothers have the best of intentions to be fair. But there are at least N+1 definitions of fair for N users, so they will definitely do things that appear to be unfair. Their goal should not be to make everyone feel that they are fair. |
