Unemployed? Retired?
(Or, do you know someone who is, who could use such a group?)
*Meetings will take place during the day*

Um, I know that your heart is in the right place, but if every MOL Sponsor does this, it's gonna become a spam board.

MOL Sponsor is me posting for Michele, who didn't want to use MOL message board in a manner that was inappropriate. Her idea sparked this idea. Hope people don't blame Michele for wanting to be open about her intentions.

There will never be more than 3 sponsor threads per topic (and likely less in actual practice) and they are deleted when they expire.

I see that Jamie/Dave are charging for this. If it is limited to one place, I see no problem. People can look at it or not, the posting probably has to be approved by the BR. And the imformation provided might be useful to some readers.

I see Greenie's point, but I think it'll be okay.

Apologies, Michelle. So, Dave, sponsors can have their own thread (limited to 3 per topic) but won't be able to post to an ongoing thread?

I.e., If there were a thread going, started by a dad, looking for advice on dealing with adolescent behavior, Michelle could participate as herself, but not jump in with this announcement?

That seems reasonable.

I'd just hate to see it turn into "Can anyone recommend a good place for ABC" with a reply from another local restauratuer (sp?) "we have the best ABC in the area, with early bird specials on Tuesday."

Men's group -- good idea!

Posting on MOL about issues about relationships, home, school, work, life in general = pricelsss, and a whole heck of lot cheaper than therapy! ;-)

/p

(and I think the posting is a fine idea, too)

Dave, will these "Advertisement Posts" always be posted by MOL Sponsor?

If that's the case, and we can identify them and choose whether or not to read them, and there'll only be three per topic, they'll be easy to ignore.

I'm sure your advertisers don't want to hear that, though.

J.B.

We've seen that backfire a few times. I don't smart business owners will think it's worth the hassle to try to fake usernames and risk discovery.

Yes and there will be a line beneath the thread's subject line to indicate it's a sponsor message. Anyone will easily be able to ignore sponsor threads, but I think as many people will read them than other topics due to the curiosity factor.

Dave: Are you gonna charge everybody (i.e., including those who regularly stick free advertising on your boards... no need to name names, we all know who they are...) wishing to advertise in the non-classified threads, or only the ones straighforward enough to pay up front?

Just wondering...

Actually I forgot to post (and I don't think anyone else did) about Michelle and her darling daughter being featured in the NY Times a couple of weeks ago in a story about adoption.

Thanks so much for the flattering and very kind words, folks. (Now, who are you going to nudge or prompt to make that phone call?!) The way things are shaping up, it looks like we'll meet on either a Thursday or Friday morning, hopefully beginning on May 11th or 12th, in the 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. slot. I'm hoping to have at least 4-6 group members to get this thing off the ground. It's scheduled to be a pretty short-term gig, done by the time school lets out for the summer, so don't be shy...

Hi Debby--It's been a long while. And thanks.

I hope things are really good with you all. Will you make it back to Maplewood during your annual summer pilgrimage? Best regards...

So is this more a therapy or support group? (the man I'm thinking of mentioning the thread to would find it more imaginable if it was support/ sharing experiences with a facilitator, vs. deep probing)

Hopefully there will be much mutual support/sharing, but it is my expectation that what it will eventually be/become will be that which meets the wants and needs of the participants. Bear in mind, of course, that this is only a six week group, and as such, somewhat limited in the extent of "deep probing" that can take place within the context of a shared experience.

If it would be helpful for us to speak, or for the man you're thinking about to have the opportunity to ask a few more questions about it, please feel free to reach out to me at 973-762-7227.

Thanks. Michele

And thank you, knak. Hope I was of some help.

And now, A LAST CALL--if we get 1-2 more guys, we're up and running tomorrow morning (9:30 - 11:00). Any more takers out there?

Do we have to sit around and talk about our feelings?

Or will there be some sports we can watch?
