Hello, Fountain of Local Knowledge :-)
Is there a decent cab company around town, for those late trips back from the station when youre a 25 min walk away from home, or those trips to surrounding bars / restaurants and you want to be able to have a drink? Ive only seen one advertised on the net - maplewood taxi - and was wondering if this was a one man band operation or a proper cab co? Is there any choice and does anyone have any recommendations - eg is it better to call one from springfield or milburn etc?

The only cab company I repeatedly use here is Maplewood Taxis. I think the No. is 973 762 5700...

They have never let me down.

Sorry in advance if the number is wrong, it was from a very foggy memory!!!!

Yeah - that seems to be the same operating address as American Livery limousines too. Yes i just called them - they are a proper cab co with many cars and a pleasant greeting, so it looks good :-)

Definitely double check...my limited experience is that the local taxi companies start very early (for morning flights from EWR), but also go home in the evening.

I've used A Plus many times in the past. Family owned, and almsot alway s really nice drivers - espicially Rob (I think he's one of the owners). His mom is the dispatcher (or at least - used to be). (973) 275-0660
(I have it on my ipod for those late nights where I need a cab!)
