I'm posting this for Otis' owner. A very sweet, 25 lb French bulldog is missing from the Sagamore Rd. area (I think since Monday). His name is Otis, he just celebrated his first birthday, he is auburn with white under his neck. His owner Renee is heartbroken and has a reward for his return. If you see him, please call her cell at 646-296-7361.

I'm bumping this little guy up, hoping that someone has seen him. He lives near the reservation, so I'm guessing that is where he went. I drove around there this afternoon, but didn't see him. Please keep your eyes open if you are walking through there. There are signs posted in the reservation. This little guy has been missing for a couple of days already. I'm hoping the MOL dog-finding luck works its magic!! |

is the dog micro-chipped? has the owner checked with all the animal docs and hostpitals in the surrounding area? |

Oldstone, yes he is microchipped. That's a good point about the vets. Renee is probably reading this, but I'll mention alerting the local vets. I know the JAC is on alert. Susan, thanks for taking a look. It was worth a shot. |

There was a possible Otis sighting! Renee says that she got a call around 8PM that a brown & white dog with no tail was seen running across someone's front yard on Ridgewood near St Lawrence heading toward S. Orange.

We live in Otis's neighborhood and got the flyer. Also, our dog walker, John (Comfy Canine) told me about him. We have been looking for him and thinking about him. Have their been any sitings? We have a dog that is the same age as Otis so we really understand how upset you are. Good luck, and keep us all posted. We will keep looking. |

I aslo think someone has found the cute lil' Otis. Post his photo all around, Post Offices, Supermarkets, Cleaners, Restaurants, Schools and LIbraries in Maplewood & SO. Someone probably has seen him out with whomever has him now. Did he have his collar on with tags when he got away? |

Otis' photo is EVERYWHERE! Just saw it on the door of CVS in Millburn! Seen it in all kinds of shop windows and on telephone poles. Renee, I really hope you find him soon. You must be so distraught. |

OTIS WAS FOUND!!!!! I just got a call from Renée and she asked me to post the news. She was on Staten Island when she got the call and she's driving like a maniac to get him now. She'll post the details when she gets home, but it sounds like someone found him in the reservation, lying on his side by a curb. It sounds like he's dehydrated, but otherwise ok, but she won't know until she gets her hands on him. I really hope the little guy is ok after spending 5 days in the reservation.

I was the one who saw him run through my yard on Wed. evening about 7:30. I ran out with a leash and tried to catch him but he was very fast. I called Renee right away. We spoke on the phone as I directed her to where I live so she could drive around the neighborhood and look for him. She was so upset, I was too. I have been checking this thread several times a day. I am so happy he was found. Hope he is okay. |

I got a bit more info from Renée. She's still not home, but she said that Otis is just fine. Apparently when the woman said she found him by the curb, Renée thought she meant yesterday. Turns out that this person found him early in the week and brought him to her home. She saw one of Renée's signs this weekend and gave her a call. It sounds like he's been well cared for and was not cruising the town this week. It's nice that they have a happy ending! |

Whew! I was so scared when I read "lying on his side by the curb". I feared the worst. And, was quite surprised, because I figured after 5 days, someone had him in their home. Glad all is well. |

I am also glad to hear that Otis was found. I have seen his signs in a few different places and felt sad for the family every time. |

I'm so happy for Otis' family! It is nice to know that there are still good and kind people in the world. Otis must have had had an angel on his shoulder(and powerful good thoughts from MOLers), so that they found him.

Yes, when she told me he was lying by the curb, my heart was in my throat. I didn't want to say anything to her, though. She sounded so happy I didn't want to worry her. I think Mimi is right, he was probably just overheated from running around, and was taking a little break. He's a lucky little dog to be found so early by such a kind person. Renee sounded so happy to have him back and she was grateful for all the kindness the community has shown her. Renee, be sure to check that gate (does it self-close?) so he can't go carousing again! |

A couple years ago, I found a little dog with no leash running around on Oakland across from the park. I looked around, no one appeared to be watching her, but a house across the street had an open gate in the back, by the driveway. I picked up the dog and knocked on the door. Sure enough, she lived there and the homeowner didn't even realize that the dog had gotten out of the yard. Self-closing gates are a great idea for kids and pets. |

To everyone: Thanks a ton for all your prayers, thoughts, & support. I never knew about this web-site & thanks to Sharon I found it. Linda, who owns The Ultimate Spa & Salon in S. Orange is the hero. She found Otis & took him in. I didn't get to "paper" S. Orange til Friday & her friend told her about the posters all over the towns. |
