We don’t know who or when or why, but someone dropped off a formerly owned cat here at the DPW- Recycling yard. It’s an adult neutered male, mostly white with marmalade accents. We call him, “Boo”. He’s a very nice cat, friendly and affectionate. We’ve been looking after him as best as we can for a few weeks now, but we all agree that the DPW and Recycling yards, with the attendant garages are not a very safe haven for animals. Besides the heavy traffic, and danger of being run-over, there are also petro-toxic puddles and spills - and there is also the danger that the cat might accidentally be locked in a garage or container that is not opened very frequently. We are hoping someone out there might be able to provide “Boo” with a good home and family. I’d take him, but I already have 4 cats. That always seems to be the problem. With cats it’s one of two things; People either don’t like cats…or they already have one or two too many. If you like cats and can take in one more, please give us a call - 973-762- 1175 - After 4PM and weekends 201 - 704 - 0452

Nancy - Library-Lady Should have mentioned that this is the Maplewood DPW, across town from the JAC shelter - not S. Orange, which is down the road from the Shelter. Naturally, we did think of calling JAC and/or other Animal shelter organizations, but they are truly overwhelmed with animals, therefore reluctant to take in more. Shelters are really a last resort...dozens upon dozens of animals in cages....Hoping to avoid that if possible. |

Oh that's so sad boo doesn't have a home. I wish I could take him. I love cats but my husband is strongly alergic to cats. So I'm gonna have to sadly pass but hope someone can take him.

At least if he is placed in a shelter such as JAC, he will be safe indoors until adopted. Try putting a "found" ad on www.petfinder.com. |

You can probably help place this cat better by posting a photo here. Also if you have any cute stories to tell, that always helps. Any info that might help the new owner to know what they are getting. When we saw our dog on Petfinder, the current owner gave this great story about how the dog reacted when he was at the family picnic. |
