I was reminded today that someone had posted some questions about work on Springfield Avenue. In another post, someone suggested that I would know and indicated that I might respond. Ok, I was late and the thread was retired. Regarding Cafe Meow, I am doing most of the build out and managing the balance of the contractors efforts. John posted direct answers to the business questions. We have a lot of work to do and few days to get it done. Regarding the old Primo Pizza space. To date several business teams have approached the building owner and have presented plans for the space. They include moving City Nails from 3 doors away, (Seems to be blocked by zoning law); Expanding the Dance studio, Stories in Motion into 2 spaces, (seems to be blocked for Building Dept. reasons); several groups have had thoughts of building a restaurant business with bar, (none are moving ahead at this time due to costs of build out.); Building a UPS/MBE store, Building a liquor store, and Building a Co-op Gym. As of today, none of the ideas have developed into a full and working plan, so the space sits empty. I hope that helps those who asked. Later, George

I think the important thing is that there is a lot of interest in the location. Some businesses are looking to expand and others to open new there. Very good news for SA. |

I just signed a Lease for the old pizza space so that part is done. I am still working with UPS/MBE on a franchise. This part is harder than it looked. Later, George |

By signing a lease, are you saying you are moving your own business in there? What kind of business?

I think George is looking into a UPS/MBE store. Very cool. That is just what is needed to help support the huge home based business in the area along with the other existing brick and morters. Good luck Geroge! |
