Can anyone recommend caterer for an early June house party in So. Orange - (recent feedback). It doesn't have to be "over the top", but someone who offers interesting fare and is reliable.
Many thanks!

Interestingly, Kings in Short Hills has good food and the best prices.

Interesting? Not sure what that means. As far as reliable and very reasonably priced, I've used the Mapleleaf on several different occassions. The food has always been good, some particularly yummy salads. The price is incredibly reasonable, and Steve is very accomodating and exceptionally reliable.

Chef Jesse Jones, Heart and Soul Restaurant and Catering in S.O. I know he does a lot of private parties and clients are always pleased. His food is AMAZING.

Jesse's "home cooking" with a gourmet twist is great - he puts an amazing spin on chicken & ribs! If you're looking for something lighter - try Celebrated Foods in Maplewood (in fact, if you want to taste test, they're catering Classic Design Framing's Meet the Artist event this Thrusday).

We had a church event catered by Napoli Deli on Chestnut in Union. The food was wonderful and interesting and they were very easy to work with. Ask for Mike and tell him Cathy from the Unitarian Church sent you:

Also used New World recently. The food is yummy and definately interesting, but it ain't cheap. Definately worth the money, but you have to be prepared to spend it!

Yes, but I think Celebrated Food still does catering, although I don't know how you reach them.

Try Country Picnic out of Bedminster: 908-234-9606. We first used them for our wedding rehearsal dinner 3 years ago and have used them ever since.

We've used Crane's. Our guests still comment on the yummy food that was served. We loved the bacon-wrapped dates, mini crab cakes & mini pulled pork sandwiches, among other things. Crane's was very accommodating and willing to work with us in our menu selection. This all made for a pleasant experience. We even had the option to use our own platters. Give them a call at 973-763-2050. They are really nice Maplewood people!

Agreed, Cranes's is great - and what good news that they will now be open on Sundays 9-2!!

Also, the new owners of New World Catering offered up some wonderful taste treats at Classic Design Framing's Meet the Artist reception last night. Very nice guys with amazing attention to detail.

Isn't it great that there are so many wonderful and varied sources for catering in our little towns? You must let us know who you chose Chandler!
