I usually do NJT to a cab to LaGuardia, but I'm thinking that it won't cost much more just to drive & park. I'm gone Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Any experience with parking there? Is it one of those park 10 miles away, wait for the bus & get to the terminal an hour later deals? I care less about cheap than I do about quick and convenient. Althoough, I don't want to pay Newark valet rates. Thanks.

Very convenient, very easy, very expensive....30 a day for first 2 days, 15 each day after. Right next to short-term lot (Designated lot, but right across from terminal). You'll be out of your car and at your gate in 15 minutes. |

Be sure to get a reservation- the times I went for vacation travel parking was very tight, even far from the airport. We almost had to come back home once, I was crying thinking we were going to miss our flight. Plus, some of the areas don't look terribly secure- I would be choosy with a nice car (mine's not). |

Funny, I don't think it's very convenient at all. It's definitely expensive, though. About 1 month ago, I flew out of LGA and parked in Long Term. I paid $145 for 1 week and it took me 30 minutes to get to and from the terminal by bus. I would avoid all that, if you could. bklyngirl |

We're talking about two different lots. THere's a Long Term lot situated in front of Terminal A, right in with all the short term lots. It's more expensive than off-airport parking, but gives you a discount to the short term lots after 2 days or so.....I wasn't aware of off-airport parking requiring busing. |

Where did you end up parking? I have to do same in 2 weeks...looking for security, as well as convenience. |

Well, I looked at the online map of LaGuardia (first mistake - I used the Port's website) to see where the on-site long term parking was. Since there weren't directions and we didn't have time to circle the airport a gazillion times, we ended up in daily parking (I know, I know). According to the website, there are two long-term lots at the airport itself. The one Smarty is talking about (which we were aiming for & missed) is $30/day for the first two days and $15 per day after, with some other fractional discounts. The other one you need to do the shuttle thing for. We were directly in front of Terminal B, right at the elevator. It was a 2-minute walk into the terminal. That was $30 a day with no discount. It was $99 from Friday at 2p - Monday 3:30p. We probably would have saved $15 or so in short term. And a cab to/from Penn to LaGuardia would have been about $65-$70 with tip, so it wasn't that much more expensive to drive. Even with traffic, we were home in an hour. |
