I've lost my Verizon phone and Verizon wants to charge me full retail to replace it ($130). I'd prefer to not pay this price, considering that it is completely arbitrary. Anyone face this problem? What did you do? |

Guess you didn't have insurance on the phone? How old was the phone - doesn't Verizon offer a new phone every two years at a discounted rate? |

Rosiemom -- any chance you can change your plan at the same time, thereby perhaps getting a new phone at a discounted rate? After a couple of phone mishaps on my end, I opted for the insurance. Sure, it's another $5 a month, but since I have had it, I actually have had to get my phone replaced. Verizon replaced the phone with supposedly the same model, but the new phone actually had more features. I can't complain. In your case, though, since you may not have had the insurance, see what happens if you modify your plan. That might wind up saving you money on the phone. Also -- does you homeowner's insurance cover the loss of a phone? |

Plenty of phones without plans for sale on eBay. I've both bought and sold phones there w/ no problem.
