It is near the Shoprite across from Kings on Morris Ave. and it is closed. I used to buy all my plants there and they also sold propane. It was a nice place and now empty. I hate it when that happens. Anyone know?

I know the old people sold it to a very nice guy. He was only open for about a year then he was gone too. Couldn't give you the exact details though. I think this will be an ongoing problem with our economy. I was in Summit yesterday talking to my tailor friend. He said in the 24 years he has been in the same spot it has never been this slow. Same for the shoemaker and the cheese guy. Also read that Millburn businesses are just barely holding on. I guess it must be....the taxes, the gas, the cost of housing in general everything going up.

I heard they closed due to the fact that the landlord was asking for a ridiculous increase in rent and they could not afford to stay open. They only let people know with a sign a few days before, and sold everything for peanuts. I picked up a lot of things, but it was sad.

Also, what happened to Dubrow's on Northfield in WO? We went by two weeks ago and it was completely vacant?

According to one of the landscape architects at Dubrow's, the owner wasn't making much money on the nursery part of his business so he shut it down. Now they only have their commercial and residential landscaping business, I think.

I suspect that Dubrow's site, which is quite large, will sprout McMansions very shortly. The section of Northfield between Livingston Avenue and Route 10 is a hotbed of infill housing, knockdowns and major remodelings.
