I know that this has been discussed before and I've read some information on the apple website, but I'm still confused about how iTunes works with two people (each with their own iPOd) sharing a computer. The situation is that older daughter got an iPod last year and setup iTunes on the computer. Now younger daughter has a new iPod and we have updated the iTunes software and she is beginning to build her own playlist(s). We elected not to do separate Windows accounts, since first daughter's iPod account is on the "family" account that we all use on that computer and we prefer not to have separate Windows accounts if possible. Also, I think this will make it easier for them to share songs if/when they wish to do so (?) So, the next question on the table is must they (or can they) have separate iTunes accounts for ordering songs? Or is there more to this that we need to know to do this correctly? |

I believe you can have up to five iPods on one computer. One account will share all of the music between the ipods. Each iPod is named in set up so itunes can recognize them. Set the preferences to update manually and your daughters can upload their own individual play list. |

I keep the same ITMS account for all the family iPods. Then it's easy for us all to share the same music. Oh, and it works off my account only, so they can't mess things up. |
