I'd like to find & buy 3 - 10 burlap bags for a 5 year old sack race next week. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

I'm too late to order them online. Millstone Garden only sells burlap on a roll, and the local coffee shops (of South Orange) were quite rude in telling me they didn't have any.

I know I can use pillow sacks, but since our yard has a fair amount of wood chips, I'm afraid they'll get pretty torn up.

As a last resort, I'll probably try paper sacks with handles from Whole Foods.

Any help is appreciated!

Why not buy the burlap by the roll and make the sacks? You'd only have to stitch up two sides and the kids might be able to do that with a big embroidery needle and some heavy yarn. Sounds like a good project.
