Has anyone out there purchased and tried a pair of those strange-looking Masai Barefoot sneakers that are supposed to be great for your body. I'm intrigued by the ads but a little skeptical -- and they're very expensive. |

Me too! I have a friend who got the lower version, she just had her 4th kid and said she hadn't noticed a difference. I guess if you walk a lot they could help, but like anything else you have to use them the right way, and walk a lot! During a recent trip to SoHo I did notice quite a handful of people walking in them. FWIW, the black ones look a little less, white! But they are quite expensive! Almost forgot, the first time I saw them a friend's aunt was wearing them and she had major foot trouble and swore by them. She had the red ones on and they looked much nicer. (She took off heels after an afternoon affair and wore them with black slacks and a sweater and she looked like a hip 60 something!) |

I saw a couple of pairs on the site, http://www.swissmasaius.com/ , that I would wear, especially if my foot would feel better. Foot Solutions in Millburn carries them, might have to check them out tomorrow. Foot Solutions 313C Millburn Ave. Millburn, New Jersey, 07041 Phone: (973) 379-FOOT |

My brother had recommended them, so this past winter I went to Foot Solutions to try them out. Couldn't get past the oddness of the shoes, so I didn't get them. The woman who was helping me at Foot Solutions was very knowledgeable though, and ended up solving a problem I was having with my feet. My feet left very happy. |

MBT are sneakers without the heel. My wife had to have a pair to walk on the treadmill, but sent them back immediately. She didn't think that she could get used to them. They do say that there is an adjustment period....good thing for me because they cost around $250. They are nice people at Foot Solutions and are accomodating. Check them out, they carry an interesting mix of footwear. http://www.footsolutions.com/millburn/ You can also look up Kalso or Earth Shoe, which are similar to MBT - but cheaper: http://www.zappos.com/n/br/b/380/faq/1.html This might be a biased comparison between MBT and Earth Shoe: http://www.lovethoseshoes.com/InfoAdvice/MBT/Default.asp

I love mine! I have the high high version and find that they really do work your legs out more. I walk at least 3 miles a day - don't reccommend if you just want them to run errands in. After a year they are still in excellent shape. |
