Local directions to jersey gardens?

Is there any local way anyone knows of? Got lost last time trying to get home... seemed to take a long time, when in reality it's not so far from us.. thanks! I personally believe 1/9 by the airport is far more confusing than the NJ Turnpike, though. I don't find it too confusing but we're going to IKEA more likely than Jersey Gardens.
