A dog has been wandering into our backyard, scaring the daylights out of my kids, who are not fond of dogs (despite my love of golden retrievers). The dog has gotten into our garage, puncturing a hoppity-hop and refusing to leave. Others on Oakview, between Prospect and Valley, and on North Crescent have mentioned seeing the dog, but no one knows who its owner is. We checked the tag on the dog's collar, and no owner is indicated. While the dog isn't viscious or menacing to folks who aren't scared of dogs, he is preventing my kids from wanting to play in the backyard (and seems to have a fondness for kids' balls). Here is a description: short- to medium-sized dog with short, brown hair and some white around the neck. Looks a bit like a boxer, though the nose is long. If you know who the owner is, could you let us know so we can alert him or her that the dog is getting loose and scaring the kids in the neighborhood? |

What kind of tag? If it is a rabies tag, the vaccinating vet should be listed. They can trace the owners (or whoever had him vaccinated). We've done this before when there was no ID tag on a lost pup. |

There is a golden retriever on Prospect that is allowed to run free. He/She lives between Oakland and Park. Do not know if that is the same one but the owners do allow this one to roam. And goldens love to roam. cecilia |

Also, there are flyers about a lost dog near Grove Park. I didn't look at the picture, but this could be the dog. J.B. |

JB is right! We saw the signs for a lost dog by Marylawn this afternoon. From the car it looked like it could have been a boxer. Not too sure. I'll look in the morning when I go out. |
