my newly planted honeysuckle vines have a disgusting grey/green bug crud all over it. i sprayed it with my rose stuff (for aphids) and it isn't going away. short of flicking the bugs off of every leader, what else can i try?

What was in the rose stuff?
What do the bugs look like - can you post a pix?

I would try summer oil to smother the bugs.
Or Safer Inectacide Soap.
I usually try to start with the least poisonious poison and work up.
