Has anyone had vermiculite removed from walls? We have some in our kitchen walls. Any recommendations for testing? |

As I remember, vermiculite is not toxic but may be messy to remove. Have a good vacuum cleaner near by.

We were scared about the vermiculite in our attic so we had it tested. No asbestos. We let it stay put. |

Better safe than sorry. Anyone have the name of an asbestos abatement company that you trust? I am going to have it tested. |

"Google" vermiculite. It is a mineral that does not contain asbestos. There was a problem with one mine that had an asbestos contaimination with its vermiculite. Since the mineral comes from many sources throughout the world, the chances of your vermic. having asbestos are slim.
