My fiancé’ got those for a while. It was a little hit or miss. Some meals the food was pretty good, easy to prepare, and left her feeling pretty full. Other meals were kind of a disaster. She overcame the bad meals by keeping something healthy to eat in the house incase the meal was no good.

Mem, With 30 lbs to lose I tried Nutrisystem. The first 10 lbs were easy to lose (albeit that's typically what I lose on any diet before giving up/losing interest). After 1 1/2 months, I started feeling that the super processed foods were unhealthy, even with all the added fruits and vegetables. The salt content was far more than I ever cook with. So, once again I lost interest - rationalizing that it was unhealthy (and quickly gained back the 10 lbs). For losing 10 lbs. I think it's a reasonable diet with tolerable food and very easy to follow. Be careful when returning to real food to watch the calories or the weight comes right back.
Good luck!
Judi

My mother in law whose weight fluctuates used to do it every time she needed to lose 5-10 lbs. Until she switched to LA Weight Loss. Until she switched to Atkins.

Food is super processed, think freeze dried soups, kind of like astronaut food.

If you stick to their food though, it will control your portions. You'll be a hungry *****.

mem,

what are your goals past losing 10 lbs?

To be frank, you can crash off 10 lbs of water pretty easily (which is what you'd see with Nutrisystem).

I think the results were the same, she dropped 10 lbs, then faltered.

Had a friend who was on the Nutrisystem diet years back. She lost a hell of a lot of weight - went from 150 to 112 or something like that. My observations:

1. The processed food was pretty expensive.

2. The processed food was pretty disgusting.

3. The processed food gave her pretty disgusting "gas."

In the end ater she decided she had lost enough weight and purchased all new clothes, she stopped buying from Nutrisystem. Over those few months on the diet she had literally forgotten how to eat. Over next few months she basically put back all of the weight she had lost (and then some).

I think the thing is don't lose sight of healthy eating and you should be fine.

Mem, you are the most beautiful woman I've ever met, and although I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's really your opinion that matters most, should you lose these ten pounds I (as well as everyone around you) will then look ten pounds heavier in comparison. That would not be pretty for anyone involved.

Please, Mem - think carefully of those around you before you go and try something rash.

mem,

I am about to start 2 weeks (all I can handle on a diet) of the Scarsdale. It suits me, and it suits others I know who have tried it. No fancy potions, all regular food.... it must be something to do with the combinations you eat, as it always gives results.

10lbs should be doable without too much problem if you really want to, and if you want an e-mail/MOL buddy to diet along side you, then I am up for starting on Monday!

I strongly recommend a major ice cream binge beforehand. At least a half gallon, and add chocolate sauce regularly while consuming it. It will help, I swear!

Las - you sweet thing you...let's get married! However, I hear your mint julips talking, and I need to sample some. :-)

All,

Thanks for your input. Here's the deal: I weight 128, I want to weigh 118. No compromise.

I have tried on my own and have been partly successful but it takes a lot of attention and since I am going through a crunch at work I want someone else to do the calorie/carb counting for me right now. I generally eat well, don't like sweets, cake or ice cream, I avoid pasta, bread and starches, but I CAN"T SHAKE THESE 10 LBS.

So I will see what this does. I am going to start a weight loss blog and you all feel free to add to it.

Thanks again.
