I have tried to do a search of recent posts (in the last couple of years) for ob/gyn's and I haven't had any success. I am sure there is plenty already written, but I can't seem to get it to work. I did see the recent thread on Ciciola, David & Kaufman in Livingston, but I see they only deliver at St. Barnabas, and not Overlook. I want to leave my options open because I haven't decided which hospital I prefer yet. Any suggestions? Thoughts on the hospitals recently? Thanks so much! |

Dr. Russell Hoffman is at 576 Springfield Ave. in Summit 908-273-3335. Affiliated with Overlook. Recommended to me 8 yrs. ago from someone in Maplewood. He delivered my son and I've been going to him ever since. Very compassionate and will spend as much time as you need to discuss whatever. |

Dr. Richard Blum, 226 St. Paul Ave. in Westfield (908-654-1166). He delivered my daughter in Overlook last year and will deliver my second child in Overlook, as well, later this year. He's a great doctor all around. Before my daughter was born I didn't know which hospital to deliver in - St. Barnabas or Overlook. I did my research and I totally recommend Overlook. The staff is great, you'll have a private room, and it's not as busy as St. Barnabas. Good luck! bklyngirl |

What's the deal with Overlook's private rooms? Their website is totally uninformative and I haven't had a chance to call around and see what's offered where. I had a terrible experience with my roommate in the semi-private after my first baby was born, so if it comes down to Overlook or St. B I'm inclined to go with wherever I'll have the best chance at a private room. |

Yes, CJH, Wendyn is right. There are only private rooms at Overlook, which is why I prefer that hospital over St. Barnabas. bklyngirl |
