Has anyone gone? It's apparently prime strawberry picking time right now. I did it long ago when i was a kid, and i found a long list of pick-your-own farms in nj to choose from now. Just wondering if anyone here has any recommendations for specific farms that are better than others. If i don't get some homemade jam soon, i may die.

Alstede Farms has been fun in the past - strawberry, apple - we've done both (We haven't made it there this year .)

They were fully ripe and delicious in Delaware last weekend, so they should be good here soon!

I planted strawberries last year and they have taken over my yard. However, the birds or animals seem to like them as well. They take one bite out of each one and leave it to rot. So I run out and try to salvage those that are left. Like you say YUM!

Alstede Farms is definitely the best. It's in Chester and I believe they have a website. They also have peach and apple picking as well.

There's a farm in Long Hill Township on Meyersville road just before you get to the Grange (can't think of the name) I know they have various fruits etc in season. They're only about 20 mins away.

The farm in Long Hill is Hillview Farms. They have blueberries in July. I don't believe you can pick strawberries there, but the blueberries are great.
