Any ideas out there? I am trying to order a gift online for a friend who already has everything (this is the second child). Thanks!

Don't really have any suggestions. However, just because it's the second, doesn't mean that a new cute outfit would not be welcome. Hannah Anderson's things are always popular. Also, don't forget a gift for the older child; that, imo, is as important as getting the newborn a gift. The parents will really appreciate it too I'm sure.

Georgie, as the mom of two boys, we got many wonderful presents from Wooden You Know on Springfield. The baby loved a soft jingly robot, a Haba house with little puppets, and a great soft book. The elder got lots of great stuff too...the owners know their stuff and can steer you towards something to keep the older kid occupied by himself, while parents fret over the baby! You can order through their website too, I think.

My second got the gift of a star named after him from one of my husband's co-workers (cow-orker!) and I think it is just the greatest gift! Would be perfect for someone who has "everything." They will receive a framed certificate to hang on the wall.

I have ordered personalized rocking chairs (the puzzle rocker) and personalized step stools from www.mybambino.com I especially like these for second (or third) children because the older kids can use the gift until the baby is old enough to start using it and personalized gifts are always cute.
I also love the quality of Hannah Anderson clothes, and another good gift is a selection of childrens books. Good luck!

I have had great luck with this gift, babies seem to love it! An infant can lie on it, older kids use it as a blankie:

I would get some little token gift for the babe and then do something practical for mom like send over several meals she can freeze and pull out as needed, gift certificate for local take out, gift cert for laundry service etc., merry maids, etc.

A friend gave me a "frozen food" shower for my second and it was great! Everyone brought a meal for my freezer. Made those days in the hospital easy for my husband and the recovery days at home easier for me.

My neighbor had a new baby , her second. I am giving her and her DH the gift of having their lawn mowed and edged.
She was thrilled when I asked her if this would be a good idea!

I will get a few inexpensive little goodies for the older child, but I have to tell you, parents are so happy with this practical gift.

kids that have everything don't need anything. give the mom a postnatal or a full-body massage and she'll love you forever.

if you don't want to spend too much money, just drop by with food. the first few weeks with a newborn are very taxing and new parents always welcome prepared food. the whole family will be grateful.
