I sent this out to 3 of the two year collages / Devry type schools trying to hire someone. I got no responses. How the heck do I hire someone? We are currently looking for a Part Time Administrative Assistant (20 hours per week) that will transition to a full time position as a Customer Support Representitive supporting our Warehouse Management software. The position will include light administrative tasks, and assisting our Product Specialist in their daily duties until the candidate develops the necessary skills to support our clients. The position opens immediately. |

Hmmm. That's hard. I've had luck in the past appealing to college students who needed part time jobs. They've been some of the best AAs I've ever had. The down side is that they generally aren't looking to transition to full time once they graduate. Then again, if they like the company and see the full time position as one of opportunity, you never know. I think your problem is looking for someone who can afford to do part- to- full. It's too close to graduation for a 2-year college grad to be desperate enough to settle for part-time right away.

we used to use the times (print and online) and monster.com to hire personnel but it got to be too expensive. we now post on craig's list and we've been pretty lucky so far. finding a good worker is hard work in itself but there are good candidates out there. good luck with your search. |

That's the problem; I would need full time. Although, I guess it depends on the pay.... |

Brett, where is the job location and the pay scale? I might know a few people who are interested. |

Hours are flexible, dress is casual. I’m hesitant to post a pay scale (I think greentree would be $1000 an hour) because we haven’t really had any takers to get a good idea of what they would be expecting. |

Don't be silly; I'd do it for $100 an hour. Well, without benefits, you'd have to make it $125. Once I go full time, I'l knock it back to $75 an hour. Fair is fair, after all. Seriously, I get sent to handle some of our more, um, challenging clinical teams, who are our customers. I'm the perfect combination of tactful and strong. When I get paid for it, that is. |
