Once we move, I need to find a new OB/GYN. I'd like to find a female that takes my insurance (Aetna) and is affiliated with Overlook if possible. I looked up some Doctor's on Aetna's website. Does anyone have anything (good or bad) to say about these Doctors?

Alice Gibbons trained at New York Hospital and is very good. She won all sorts of awards when she finished her training. Very popular though. Good Luck. cecilia david |

I went to Whalen and had an awful experience. I was new to the area and high-risk. I went in there because I was 7 weeks preggers. She basically bawled me out for not having any local family or friends who could take care of my kids because she wanted to admit me to the hospital (and I said I needed to get my kids and/or arrange for care for them). I mean, I had lived here for like 3 weeks. What was I supposed to do?
Bad scene - she actually raised her voice to me. I left while she went to get something.
I ended up going to someone at St. Peter's who was wonderful and was very confused as to why she wanted to admit me to the hospital at that point. I wasn't dehydrated (as she kept saying I was - even I knew I wasn't).
Maybe just me...or a bad day for her.

I just started with Sonya Youngren. Karen Krieg is in the same practice as well, though I haven't seen her yet. So far so good, but the office hours seem limited. |

I actually caleld Christine Masterson yesterday for an appointment, and she isn't taking any new patients. Any experience with Audrey Romero in her practice? I am also looking for an OB/GYN for Overlook, and having a hard time finding a woman who takes my insurance who actually delivers there.
Hopefully that will save a phone call NYC to Maplewood. :-) |

Laura Zimmerman is young and therefore taking new patients BUT her office is in Warren (not Summit -- it is a Summit Medical Group sattelite office) which isn't really convenient so if you can find someone closer you would probably prefer that. Also, many of the Summit Medical Group Doctors are moving to Berkeley Heights offices -- you should ask about that. Good luck. |

I see Dr. Maslyak in the Rublino/Masterson/Romero group and really like her. In fact, I really like all of them. I've had some complications and they've all been great. Masterson is the only one I haven't met yet-- but any of them can deliver your baby and you can schedule appts with different docs as well. Also, FWIW, I much prefer Overlook to St. Barnabas! |
