I need to download some music from an internet sight, however, most don't let you view their inventory until you've paid for a membership. I don't want to pay for a membership I can't use. How do I know if a sight has the music I need (I'm looking for traditional hymns)? |

Have you looked at iTunes? You don't pay to download the software or to look at the inventory, just when you buy the songs....and they let you listen to a 30 second clip for free so you can tell if it's what you're looking for.

Even iTunes seems to want my credit card information up front. Is there a sight that lets you look at the inventory w/o them knowing your personal info first? |

Dont sweat giving ITunes your CC information. If anyone wants it they can get it so many other ways. ITunes is hyper secure and you need not have a worry in the world and they will have what you want, I am almost positive. You can opt out of any email offers and the like but at least listen and look. Really this isn't anything to worry about. |

You can preview and search for music on iTunes without giving them a credit card. Give it a try and see if you like it. I've searched for a lot of artists on iTunes, the largest black hole there is the lack of Beatles music, but I've read the Beatles library is being prepared for internet sales. Beatles isn't available online at all, btw, except of course through P2P and "stealing". There are a few other labels that haven't released their music to iTunes, but certainly most have.
