I'm returning to work FT. I have a 20 mos daugther and a 4.5 yr old son. Right now, I work PT and we have a babysitter/student who comes in and my son also goes to the Y.

I was planning on sending my daughter to the Y in the fall but now I think I'd like to keep her home and take advantage of the fact that I work from home. Not sure whether to leave son in Y or check out some of the shorter co-op preschools. Problem is he's an old preschooler who just misses the cut-off for Kindergarten this fall. He LOVES school and interacting with other kids. He even loves to go to the gym and go to the daycare there. Just loves it. My daughter hates the gym daycare. She always follows the caregivers around and cries. So, I've got 2 kiddos with two very different needs!

So, I'm think of looking for a FT nanny for my daughter or perhaps a home daycare/nanny share in the Tuscan area in Maplewood for her.

Any advice on resources for finding Nanny or Nanny share would be appreciated!

Hking--maybe you can get a part-time nanny? And send your son to the Y just three days instead of full-time?

red,

That's an idea! I still have my daughter that needs FT care but maybe I could do either FT nanny with son 3 days at Y. Or, maybe both of them 3 days at Y and 2-day nanny. I should put pen to paper and make sure those options wouldn't break me!

I'm also trying to figure out my options and make a plan for the fall for my (now) one year old daughter. If I go with in-home help I definitely won't need someone full time, so if you end up doing a part time nanny and want to consider doing a share, you can email me at cjh2129@columbia.edu.
