We recently moved from Brooklyn where there are known to be playgroups for 6 or so kids that are too young for preschool. Does anyone know of any such group in South Orange or Maplewood? We have a son who will be two in July. |

I highly recommend you join Mothers and More, a local chapter of a national organization that runs all kinds of great activities for parents and little ones. You can find a playgroup through them. They have a website, although I don't know it. I'm sure if you Google Mothers and More, Maplewood/South Orange you'll find something. I'm also pretty sure someone else will post it for you here soon. |

Also, when their meetings start up in the fall, you should check out the Newcomers Club. They have many activities for adults and children and I'm pretty sure that playgroups are on the list. Unless something has changed, they meet on the first Wednesday evening of each month at Morrow Methodist Church in Maplewood, but not during the summer months. |

Welcome! You can check out Mother's & More (& some other folks too) at The Dancing Goat on Wednesday mornings (like today!) ...so happens that a group will likely head over today to the little brick park with fountain accross the street from Blockbuster on SO Ave. for a free concert & picnic too. 12-2 I'll be at both at some point, but so will lots of other moms & not-yet-preschoolers...check it out.

Sounds good. We'll be sure to check it out. As it's 12:08 on Wednesday now, I don't think it'll be today, but one Wednesday in the VERY near future. Thanks!! |

Mother's and More is great as is the Newcomers Club. I met some of my best friends through both of them. I also found a playgroup through Music Together. There are many classes in the area for your children to take. |

Aside from Music Together what other classes would you recommend? We are enrolled in MT, but I work close to full-time and am unable to take my son myself to meet everyone. He goes with our nanny and seems to like it. |

We take a Saturday Kindermusik class that is great. I hear that Stories in Motion has some interesting classes too (we've never been). |
