My daughter's Chinese Dance recital is in the City this weekend and she's now complaining that her ballet slippers are too tight! We may not continue the class next fall, so I'm just looking for a loaner pair for the weekend, for the dress rehearsal and performance. She wears a little girl's size 11 1/2 - 12 shoe, with a foot that's on the wider side. Anyone have these and willing to let us borrow them?

Thanks much!
Michele

You might try Milk Money and Other Mothers for a cheap pair. I've had luck there.

Michelle, could you check with some of the older girls in the program? Maybe they still have some outgrown slippers laying in the back of their closets?Or ask the teacher.

if you have the time and patience try some thrift stores. you might just luck out.

otherwise I would ask around at the ballet school. Also did you know that ballet shoes can be spray painted??? So don't rule out a non-pink pair. One year my niece had to spray paint her shoes gold for the recital. Came out fine.

Have you tried March Shoes in town on Maplewood Ave.

They used to carry dance shoes

Thanks for your ideas...as it happens, my friend was in a similar bind--also for the recital. She picked up a pair for her daughter at Milk Money, but they turned out to be pretty big. Well, we were able to swap our too small ones for her too big ones and both girls' slippers fit them "well enough". Now let's get through the recital tomorrow and then see if they take the class next year...

Again, thanks for your help.
